Easter Egg Hunt

We went to our first Easter Egg Hunt this weekend and everyone had a great time!

Inside the church there were crafts, snacks, a cotton candy machine, and the Easter Bunny - fun!

We got there just a few minutes after 1pm and the egg hunt had already started (note to self for next year)..but Kaitlyn still got her share of eggs.

Pretty in pink :)

The morning of our Easter Egg Hunt, McKenna was in a good mood!!

Painting Eggs already?!

Before we get to the egg painting - this is another comparison shot! Here they are at the exact same age!!! who's who?

That Michigan State game on Sunday was a CLASSIC!! We were all there watching the final shot at the buzzer as it went in the net..Our house went crazy!!!! GO STATE!!!!

Kaitlyn has been painting eggs at school so of course, the fun has spilled over at home too !! :)

Bringing home our butterflies

I am trying to take Kaitlyn out alone more consistently and I knew the minute I found out about this Butterfly exhibit, it would be a hit! They had crafts, games, activities, a butterfly house tour, and best of all - ADOPT-UR-OWN caterpillars!!

We brought 2 little friends home that we will watch grow into butterflies..how fun!

hitting the fun mall rides on our way out :)

Getting ready for spring

The new season brings the ever-dreaded "updating of closets" chore in our house. It was always a big job to update Kaitlyn's closet every 4 months or so but adding McKenna's into the mix has made the closet- updating- process a huge undertaking!

Anyway, we found these awesome Dora pj's in Ellie's outgrown stuff :)

It's so funny how my early playdates were spent taking lots and lots of pictures of the kids. No time for pictures these days - just a couple funny shots of the scene...

Kaitlyn made this shamrock crown at school last week and wore it for 48 hours straight!

Preparing for St. Patty's Day

Our neighborhood co-op was walking in the Royal Oak St.Patty's Day parade so we decided to join in. The requirement was that if you were going to walk, you had to decorate your riding apparatus - how fun! The preparation was much more fun than the actual event (which ended up being cut short due to horrible rainy weather and 2 screaming kids!).

The best shot we could get of both of them :) haha!

March updates - come on Spring!

Wow ~ there's a lot to catch up on! The weather has been getting warmer and we have been so lucky with lots of sunshine! Spring fever has officially set in!

This weekend was the long awaited "Spaghetti Dinner" at Kaitlyn's school. The kids had helped prepare by decorating the placemats and chopping the vegetables. The event was from 6-8 so we knew both girls would be tired. We underestimated McKenna's ability to sleep anywhere (at the table during the magic show) :)

Late winters' not so bad when you can still justify a mug of hot chocolate!

Well the snow melted and we found all of our outdoor toys again. Kaitlyn decided to have her snack outside on this day..

Lately, garbage day is my time to shine~ I love helping to bring in the cans..

Last weekend, Kaitlyn and I hit the dog show. Cobo Hall is a great place to run around!!!

I think the best part of going to the show for Kaitlyn was getting to drive on the highway. She loves it! She always asks to go on the highway when we're in the car now. (She also loved the circle drive that takes you up to Cobo roof which was so cute cause I used to love that too!!).

Who likes it more?

By the looks of it, Kaitlyn is enjoying the new (borrowed - thanks Kathy!) baby gear in the house!! She spends a LOT of time playing in and around the excersaucer - whatever it takes to keep her occupied...hahaha!

Enjoying a long overdue playdate with Aiden and Claudia last weekend!
