memorial day

What a BEAUtIFUL day it was today. FINALLY! 85 and sunny!! We spent the day cleaning out the garage, playing with water balloons, splashing in the pool and sprinkler, grilling, planting flowers, and getting kaitlyn her big birthday present... a new bike!!! (pics to come)

I don't know if there are words to express how adorable these two are now-a-days. McKenna is Kaitlyn's shadow. Following her around, repeating everything she says and does copying her every move. And now...the clothes shopping has begun. I just cannot help myself. If I see a cute outfit in size 4t, how can I pass by the 2t?? This is going to get bad. very bad. lol!

Boyne City - Memorial Day weekend!

We were so excited to head up north for memorial day weekend! The weather was really nice when we arrived so we spent all day friday outside!

ellie and mj's bikes inspired us to get one for kaitlyn as soon as we got home! we were so impressed with them riding with no training wheels!!

Saturday, mj and uncle mike left for leeland so it was officially a girls weekend (plus grampie and jim - lol). The weather wasn't all that great so we ended up going to avalanche bay - boyne city's water park. The girls had soooooo much fun!!

i have no idea what they were doing but it didn't last long. our lunch (and trip) was cut short because of 2 major meltdowns, at the same time.....

i guess i can't blame them, it was an awesome fun-filled weekend!!!!!!

Go Away Rain!!! Wow this spring has been so hard on us with the weather not really breaking until today (memorial day!!). Here is Kaitlyn, yet again, in her rain gear heading off to school last week..

A few more from NYC!

New York 2011

We got back from our weekend in New York last night. What a great 3 day getaway for Jim and I! We were able to spend some real quality time with Kath, Peter, Daniel, and Audrey (and I was also able to hint to both of them that we are anxious for another family wedding soon - lol). 

Highlights of the trip inlcude the awesome food, beers, tour of nbc studios, walk through central park, the wedding, and spending time with the family. The hotel was in a great location right near 5th avenue and times square. We did a lot of walking and taking pictures - typical tourists. Having only been our 2nd time to New York, it was literally shocking to be on the street with so many people!!
