the day after!

I think I like the day after Christmas almost as much as the actual day. Everyone is still full of love, food, and holiday cheer :) During my childhood visits with our cousins in Canada, we always celebrated Boxing Day; so we might as well continue the tradition :) 

We slowly made our way through some of the presents and received lots of thank you's and hugs!! We have so much to be thankful for - cheers!

Even though Kaitlyn and Jim were sick, it was still a great day filled with stockings, presents, food, and family. There were so many priceless moments throughout the morning. Here are a few:

Pre-holiday festivities!

The week leading up to Christmas is always hectic but we managed to remain calm this year :) From putting together presents, to baking and decorating cookies for santa, we definitely kept ourselves busy though!

For a year and a half, McKenna has been watching her sister swim once a week; sitting on a bench overlooking the pool. Looking back, I definitely won't miss taking the "baby/toddler" to the "pre-schooler's" lesson. 

Today, McKenna had her own lesson!

This was one of those moments as a mother when my heart was so full of love I almost couldn't take it!  She was so proud of herself to finally be having her own lesson. She kicked and swam and laughed and jumped into the pool like she had been doing it all along.

the weather outside is...

SNOWY!!

There are no words to describe the excitement level of the girls when they woke up this week to find a snow-covered wonderland outside! They were bundled up and running around before 8am (yes that is the sun coming up): making snow angels, throwing snowballs, and creating footprints... 

Kaitlyn declared winter to be her favorite season!
