"What we remember, what we treasure in the end, are the spontaneous, intimate moments when we feel connected with a beloved human being." Peggy O'Mara

Age Appropriate Chores for Children
We have tried out a couple of "chore charts" and haven't really settled on a system yet. Any one out there have any suggestions/input? What goes on at your house??
I recently came across this list and love it!
I think Kaitlyn is definitely at the age (4.5) where she could be included in the (chart-making) process, and will love getting more responsibility! McKenna (2.5) is definitely capable of doing the chores; but doesn't quite understand the concept of "helping to contribute to the household" just yet.
As long as the girls know why they have to do chores, (we are preparing them for life as an independent adult), they tend to be more positive about the whole thing.

I am also considering rewarding them with points and when they have enough, they get a prize....

valentine's overload!
We have been busy with so much Valentine-themed work around here! From the candy sweetheart graph, to the exciting gift baskets that each of them found on Valentine's morning, to making 17 Valentine's cards for school, to the heart-shaped pancakes, it has been an exciting couple of weeks!

happy groundhog's day!
Our spur of the moment groundhog's day masks turned out so well! The best projects can be done in under 30 minutes and this one did not disappoint!
first snowman!
The warm winter we've had hasn't allowed for much snow; so when it stuck for about 24 hours last week, the girls hurried out to build their first snowman of the season!
