As if I wasn't having the greatest birthday weekend already, these flowers arrived from Katharine to end it all. It's easy to forget how awesome it is to have the doorbell ring and the flower-delivery man ask if you are Sara Molloy. We have enjoyed these flowers all week - thanks Kath!!!

embracing thirty five!
My birthday weekend was great! We had an impromptu family party at our house just before Jim and I left for a night at the Royal Park! There was cake, balloons, and party hats = fun!
McKenna and I ran some errands earlier in the day..
Then it was time for the party!
This was the view from our room! It was a beautiful, sunny day.
It was so nice to get away for a night. The only thing we had to worry about is what we to eat and if we had enough pillows. That's what I call relaxing!

Top Chef!
I have been joking with Kathy forever that she needs to turn her skills into a business...that I would promote her and brag about her to everyone I know. Her cakes not only look awesome but taste incredible. Most recently, I have tried her banana chocolate chip cake. Yes, it tastes as good as it sounds. Kathy made the cookies that we used as wedding favors years ago (I think she made 250??) and her skills have only gotten better through the years. This picture of the cake she made for a friend yesterday proves my point.
Wow.

"Storm of the Century"
They predicted 12-18 inches yesterday. There were huge preparations and it was all over the news. When we woke up this morning, there were probably only 6-8 inches. Significant, but a little disappointing. Suprisingly though, throughout the day, the snow has continued to fall. I would say there is definitely over a foot on the ground as of this afternoon. Awesome! Gotta love a good snowstorm!
To celebrate, we have done crafts, had a great breakfast, watched movies, gone sledding in the street, made snowangels, and drank hot chocolate while snacking on popcorn...
What could be better!?
watching our driveway get plowed!
Dinner Time!
Kaitlyn helped me make Italian Wedding Soup - sooooo good!
What a great way to end the snowday!
