I'm not really sure how it got to be the end of October. The past 2 months have been quite a blur to say the least. We have yet to get into our full "routine", but after bringing home the new puppy, baseball, dance, American Heritage girls, playdates, friend drama, several mommy meltdowns, a few (lot) less hours spent at work, and a few (a lot of) conversations with most of the important people in our lives (think friends, family, work, teachers), I think we are finally in the swing of things. As I try to settle into our new routine, I look at our girls and wonder if time is always going to go by this fast? Is it possible to slow down once they're both in school? Trust me, with the start of Kindergarten for McKenna right around the corner (fine - still a year away but who's counting) - I have really been trying to slow down and savor this last "year".
She is making it easy. Her loving, kind, FUNNY, gentle spirit, boundless energy, and thoughtfulness make me so proud to walk next to her and call her my daughter. As we were walking out of the hair salon today she grabbed my hand saying: "Mommy - thank you so much for taking me for my haircut!" And in the same breath while working on a puzzle yesterday morning: "Hand me that puzzle piece yo!" (seriously..I had to ask her to repeat it..she was thrilled with herself).
This is McKenna at the beginning of September on her first day of school. PROUD, HAPPY, BEAUTIFUL girl :)
Aunt Marla came over to join in the first day fun!
Can you tell I am feeling nostalgic?
